2006 Aussie Nationwide Family Day
On Saturday, 28th October, 2006 you could hear the sounds of happy children several blocks away. Our Kabuki Kids and their siblings enjoyed face painting, craft activities, music, and fairies, whilst the grown-ups had a chance to catch up and meet new families.
This years Family Day was held in Geelong, and thank you to Stacey and Darrin for all their hard work in hosting and organising this event.
Getting together, sharing stories and having fun were the focus of the day. Pictures are here! There will be more appearing very soon...
Twelve families attended, with 1 girl and a boy from SA, 1 young man from Queensland, 1 girl and 2 boys from NSW, 2 girls from Tasmania, and 4 boys from Victoria.
The event was covered by the Geelong Advertiser. You can see the story here. (Appears courtesy of the Geelong Advertiser)
After eating a catered lunch (thanks to rotary and other sponsors) we had an opportunity to talk to Sue White; a geneticist from Victoria.
I don’t think anyone learnt anything new about Kabuki Syndrome that we didn’t already know, but all drew comfort in knowing that we aren’t alone |
